Official Government Figures

by Vaughn Aubuchon

I have found many representations of the US federal government spending deficit over time. Virtually ALL are spun and twisted to suit the author. None cite their source, or only vaguely.

Here is MY take - official government numbers, along with the exact source. I have added my comments, to indicate the nature of the deficit, and WHO was responsible for it.

The old URL for Obama redirects to the Trump URL, which shows different HISTORICAL data. Check it out.

Table 15-6. - Total Government Surpluses or Deficits in Absolute Amounts
The Trump administration has removed this file, and others. The current file appears to be Table 14-6. Regime change, ya know.

My chart above covers the last 60 years.
The government provides the data in Excel format.
The data source covers 65 years, and
is partially duplicated above.

-

Observations -
1. Before 1968, no deficit was as high as it was in 1968.
2. Reagan was responsible for the first "super-deficit".
3. Bush 41 quickly followed with even greater deficits than Reagan.
4. Clinton's performance was the best, and even produced surpluses for 3 years.
5. Bush 43 (shrub) gave us even greater deficits still, and through his war actions, ensured that his successor would be forced to do the same.

Conclusion -
Republicans MUST be kept out of the White House.

It is official White House data. I am not here for your satisfaction.
