I spoke with a nurse about these drugs. She said, "If you are ever in a bad car accident, you had better hope that you are taking warfarin. Vitamin K can be administered to quickly stop excess bleeding. If you are taking Plavix, Pradaxa or Xarelto, you will bleed like a stuck pig! This bleeding CANNOT be easily stopped."

Text from the "Reasons" Ad -

(Actress)
Wow. Look at you.

(Actor)
I've always tried to give it my best shot.

These days I'm living with a higher risk of stroke due to A-fib, a type of irregular heartbeat, not caused by a heart valve problem.

At first, I took warfarin. But I wondered, could I up my game? My doctor told me about Eliquis, and three important reasons to take Eliquis instead.

One, in a clinical trial, Eliquis was proven to reduce the risk of stroke better than warfarin.

Two, Eliquis had less major bleeding than warfarin.

And three, unlike warfarin, there's no routine blood testing.

(Male Announcer)
DON'T STOP TAKING ELIQUIS unless your doctor tells you to, as stopping increases your risk of having a stroke.

Eliquis can cause serious, and in rare cases fatal bleeding.

Don't take Eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding.

While taking Eliquis, you may bruise more easily and it may take longer than usual for any bleeding to stop.

Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising.

Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines.

Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures.

Text from the "Picnic" Ad -

"PRADAXA is not for people with artificial heart valves.

Don't stop taking PRADAXA without talking to your doctor.

Stopping increases your risk of stroke.

Ask your doctor if you need to stop PRADAXA before surgery or a medical or dental procedure.

PRADAXA can cause serious, sometimes fatal, bleeding.

Don't take PRADAXA if you have abnormal bleeding or have had a heart valve replaced.

Seek immediate medical care for unexpected signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising.

PRADAXA may increase your bleeding risk if you're 75 or older, have a bleeding condition or stomach ulcer, take aspirin, NSAIDs, or blood thinners ...
... or if you have kidney problems, especially if you take certain medicines.

Tell your doctors about all medicines you take.

PRADAXA side effects include indigestion, stomach pain, upset, or burning.

If you or someone you love has A-Fib not caused by a heart valve problem ...

... ask your doctor about reducing the risk of stroke with PRADAXA."

Text from the "Bob" Ad -

"Do not stop taking Xarelto, rivaroxaban, without talking to the doctor who prescribes it, as this may increase the risk of having a stroke.

Get help right away if you develop symptoms like bleeding, unusual bruising or tingling.

You may have a higher risk of bleeding, if you take Xarelto with aspirin products, NSAIDs, or blood thinners.

Talk to your doctor before taking Xarelto if you have abnormal bleeding.

Xarelto can cause bleeding, which can be serious and rarely may lead to DEATH.

You are likely to bruise more easily on Xarelto and it may take longer for bleeding to stop.

Tell your doctors you are taking Xarelto before any planned medical or dental procedures.

Before starting Xarelto, tell your doctor about any conditions such as kidney, liver, or bleeding problems.

Xarelto is not for patients with artificial heart valves."
