Settings = 110 + 32 + 20 + 174 = 336

Only 336 settings to configure.
So SIMPLE.

WTH ??
This is NOT to make it easy for you.

It is to make it easy for them to PLUCK you featherless, and make you spend ALL YOUR TIME on LinkedIn.
NO WONDER YOU CAN'T FIND A JOB!
Either -
1. You are spending too much time trying to configure your settings properly, or
2. You are sabotaging yourself by ignoring them, and allowing everybody to see everything!

.

-

The worst thing, right off the bat, is that you are "OPTED IN" TO EVERYTHING, which will drive you crazy in no time, like it did me.

Here, I want to present a STANDARD settings profile, to make it EASIER for the average individual to "set up" their LinkedIn settings, in less than a week.

Then, you can start adding features that you think you may want. At least, you will not be starting from TOTAL CHAOS, with
NO PRIVACY WHATSOEVER.

Right? Right.

If they were clever, they could create
4 "Alternative Settings Profiles" to select from.
Something like -

1. Minimum Intrusion (best privacy),
2. Medium Intrusion (better privacy),
3. Heavy Intrusion (a little privacy), and
4. Max. Intrusion (open kimono, no privacy).

These could be "Starting Points", from which a user could modify their settings. This would save LinkedIn users HOURS of time, and reduce frustration. What you get now is #4, by default.

Will they ever do it?
No. It is all about the money.

They want EVERYONE to do EVERYTHING, to maximize THEIR income. Several folks have told me that they left, due to email bombardment. Look it up on Google.
There must be a better way.

After watching my personal email In-box explode, the first thing I did was cancel ALL email options. C'mon, LinkedIn, can't we make this just a little more user-friendly?

Google is a bit out of step, as usual.
I think I am being punished,
for being too critical of them recently.
It is called the "Spank" algorithm.
