Sin and the Bible

Here is a summary chart of the so-called "Seven Deadly Sins", along with the Latin name, relationship to the 8 Evil Thoughts of Evagrius Ponticus, the associated Evil Spirit, and Catholic "Opposite Virtues". These sins were enumerated in Dante's Inferno, which provided us with our current concepts of He||. They are also part of a recent History Channel series in 7 parts, which were not sequenced in any particular order.

Arguments continue regarding which sin is the deadliest. No less than 4 of the "deadliest sins" discussed in the History Channel series are described as "the deadliest". How can this be?

After thinking about it, I think the deadliest sin is the one that you, yourself, happen to be the most afflicted with, and varies by person. Wrath and Pride rank high. But Lust and Gluttony are at the top of 2 lists.

What is YOUR deadliest sin? You know which one it is. Think about what you can do to reduce the effects of your particular nemesis.
