This page is a summary of the largest Web Metrics Measuring Companies. I thought it would be interesting to compare their rankings of each other.

Note that the data from FREE web metrics companies are "best guesses", since they are not directly measuring web page traffic. The PAID companies should be much more accurate, since they usually require their code to be installed on each web page they measure, and hence provide true web analytics.

	Conclusions 1. Notice that FREE web performance data companies are far more popular than the PAID companies. 2. Alexa is a freak - they won't rank themselves. No confidence? 3. Compete and Quantcast rank highest - but not with Google. 4. Comscore REALLY HATES Quantcast. They CAN'T be accurate. 5. In general, Hitwise reports the lowest ranks of all. 6. Compete's website does not render properly in both Firefox and Safari - Compete's site is broken. 7. I would also like to post the Comscore, Hitwise and Nielsen rankings, but I would have to pay for them. So, I just don't care. 8. Quantcast ranks THIS SITE higher than Comscore, Hitwise and Nielsen. How can this be? I must be hot stuff! NEVER take any of these rankings as gospel truth. The rankings are far more useful for comparing RELATIVE performance to other sites. And, don't forget the new Google Trends for Websites. .
