Little Rascals Facts - Our Gang Trivia

Of the 53 members shown above, 10 are still living, or 19%, in 2011.

In 5 different years, production exceeded one Our Gang movie per month - 1923, 1924, 1927, 1929 and 1938.

Chubby was the first to die in 1936, at age 21.
Froggy died at the youngest age of 16. He was hit by a car in 1948, and killed along with his friend.

I am currently preparing a list of all 221 Little Rascals shorts, along with ALL identifiable outside FILMING LOCATIONS in each.
Most of the outdoor footage was shot in Palms, CA and Culver City, CA, where I grew up at 3345 Mentone Ave. Already identified are Motor Ave. (several shorts), National Blvd. (2 shorts), Overland Ave. hill, Venice Blvd., and Washington Blvd. This new page will solicit additional filming locations, which have been identified by OLDER MOVIE VIEWERS. I alone have identified about 10 locations, so I expect that I will get at least some input from older local citizens.

For example, the entire 1927 short "Olympic Games" was filmed on Motor Ave. (prominent sign), between Tabor St. and Regent St., I believe.
In the 1927 movie "Love My Dog", Dedrick's Real Estate on Motor Ave. is in a few frames, (no sign, but the building is unmistakable to me) where my grandma used to take me in 1952. Dedrick senior had been the first US Marshall in Alaska, I was told. I still remember his guns and Alaska artifacts, being a 6-8-year-old impressionable boy.
In the 1926 movie short "Monkey Business", I believe I see both Motor Ave. and National Blvd. What say you?
The 1926 movie short "Thundering Fleas", there is a rare early view of Oliver Hardy, as a policeman. I swear it is on Motor Ave.

The next time you watch a Little Rascals short, look closely at the background in the outdoor shots. You may be "transported back in time" by what you see. If so, please tell me.
