HP M307 Photosmart
Digital Camera Review

I received an HP M307 package with camera, dock and printer as a gift. Here is a report of my experience with this camera.

Pros:
Perfect fit for pants pocket
(should never be put in pants pocket)
Good 6-month camera
Easy to use
Low Price

Cons:
Shutter lag -
was very annoying - push the button and then wait for the shutter - I had to guess, and push the button ahead of time, to get the correct baseball pictures.
Poor Software Design -
Checking a setting should not change it, so you have to cycle all the way through the choices.
Image Quality -
Lack of brightness, lack of contrast. Photoshop can be used to correct this, where it becomes obvious when one uses Auto-adjust.
LCD breaks easily -
The WORST - There is NO CASE. The LCD is more vulnerable than an ant under your foot. This camera NEEDS a case. I used a thick athletic sock for mine. I'm not quite sure when mine broke. The internet is rife with reports of broken LCDs on this camera. The repair cost is the price of a new camera.

And get this - the extended warranty does NOT cover the LCD, the MOST LIKELY part of the camera to break!

Hewlett Packard blew it on this one. I have loved HP printers for many years, but they need to figure out what kind of fragile resale cameras they are going to sell.

WITHOUT CASES!!!
